Vegetable Growing For Beginners. (Without all the boring stuff!)
Over the last 2 years I have been really busy
in my new home in Lincolnshire (UK), learning all about growing my
own organic vegetables. This is not just scattering a packet of
seeds in the soil and hoping for the best.
Instead I have been taking in mounds of information, from locals and
beyond, on the right way to grow vegetables that are healthy, cheap,
and really tasty. I have also tried out all my research, and
documented my successes and failures.
The reason I am creating this section of the
website is that it is different to all the other vegetable growers
on the net right now. My approach to my vegetable
growing articles is to help others effectively grow healthy and
tasty vegetables without having to worry too much about the
technical aspects, so making them able to concentrate on producing
great vegetables all year round.
I can provide access to a comprehensive, yet simple chart, that will show you; when to start your seeds indoors, plant out from seedlings, or plant directly into your vegetable patch... and then when to harvest your crops.
I will be providing info on the following, plus
lots more.
·
Composting
·
Vermicomposting (Using worms to make high quality, rich compost)
·
Best seeds & sources to purchase from
·
Germination times and temperatures
·
Extending the growing season
·
Self-Watering Planters (For those who are not often at home)
·
Crop rotation
·
Vegetable families and how it effects the soil
·
Vegetable Diseases
·
Vegetable identification (Including seedling
identification)
·
Photos of vegetables from seeds right through to harvest time.
As always on the website, each page will have a
free live discussion available at the bottom of each article and I
encourage you to ask any questions, provide answers and add your own
information.
I will be covering how to make all kinds of
vegetable gardening tools, planters, raised beds and cold frames
from recycled materials. Vegetable Gardening need not be expensive!
If you would like to get started right away
with your vegetable growing and planning then I can highly recommend
some free software that will do all the hard work for you! Take a
look at Grow-Veg online software, I think it is fantastic!
