The folks down at Kew Bridge Eco Village seem to getting on just fine. So what is going on there then?

The group currently (February 2010) stands at approximately 35. These people have decided to live a much more sustainable existence and as far as possible live off the land. They are growing their own vegetables, go skip raiding for perfectly edible food thrown out by well known supermarket chains, heating their homesteads with recycled wood & generally going without mains Gas & Electricity.
The Eco Revolution
So is this the next big thing? This land
action was inspired by a similar land occupation back in May 1996 by
campaign group The Land is Ours in conjunction with the Green Party
and Reclaim The Streets which led to the creation of Wandsworth eco
village on a large 13 acre derelict site next to Wandsworth Bridge
which lasted for five and half months.

Will Kew Bridge Eco Village Survive?
There are more and more Eco Villages popping up in and around Europe. I would love to say that the future for Kew Bridge is bright but no doubt the land owners and developers will soon flatten the village in the name of progress.
What does Kew Bridge Have To Offer?
They hold regular classes to let people learn more about sustainability, permaculture and alternative energy. They actively encourage the public to come and visit the village and even let you stay for up to 7 nights (Subject to prior arrangement and availability.
